After the landfall of Bagyong Glenda, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and the provinces of Mindoro, Palawan, La Union, Benguet and Pangasinan will continue to experience occasional rains due to the enhanced effects of the southwest monsoon.
Over 130,000 thousand families have had their homes and lives torn apart. They need a roof above their head to feel safe once again. On July 15, 2014 Typhoon Glenda tore a path of destruction in the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Batangas, Cavite, Zambales, Pangasinan and in Manila. World Vision is supporting 16,600 children in these areas. Local staff are on the ground checking the status of registered children and families.
Typhoon Glenda killed at least 10 people as it churned across the Philippines and hit the capital, prompting the evacuation of more than 370,000 people and shutting financial markets, offices and schools, rescue officials said on Wednesday.

The eye of Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun), the strongest storm to hit the country this year, passed to the south of Manila on Wednesday after cutting a path across the main island of Luzon, toppling trees and power lines and causing electrocutions and widespread blackouts. Glenda was moving toward the West Philippine Sea after having weakened slightly.
It packed maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph, and is forecast to move northwest at 25 kph.
As a citizen, we should remember some intensive emergency precautions to avoid accidents.
